Nike

Drawing inspiration from Nike’s newest trainer, the Superrep that is designed for high intensity exercise, the space leads participants through an immersive colour journey. Participants begin their sensory experience in the cool toned check-in space and changing area. A design language of rhythmic motifs and sweeping arc partitions were informed by the repeated actions and gestures that characterise a HIIT class. Approaching the main workout space sees the spaces tonally shift from blue to purple and then to a deep pink/red in the pre-workout space. The warming of the colour-saturated spaces, along with translucent voile-clad partitions, give participants visual clues to the silhouetted spaces beyond, building anticipation with an ever evolving pace and intensity. Bench seating finished in recycled-foam and branded resistance bands echo the sustainability conscious and the technical, sports driven know-how that typifies the Nike brand ethos. A circular and mirrored chamber provides an intimate, yet infinite moment of reflection when crossing the threshold into the main workout space. Futuristic and monolithic screens flank the perimeter of the expansive main space and function in tandem with the lighting above to provide a technologically innovative and synchronised atmosphere in which the class can take place. Passing back through the cool-down space, the experience closes with the sleek, pure white of the presentation space where three custom light sculptures display the Superrep shoe, celebrating its innovations in design. These sculptures create puddles of coloured light when reflected off the high-shine white vinyl flooring, recalling and celebrating the sensorial richness and vibrant colour of the environment and the experience.
